July and August are the absolute peak of the Michigan lifestyle. The community calendars are
packed with massive, long-standing neighborhood block parties and festivals. Here are the clear
standouts for your family calendar:
The July Powerhouses
● Royal Oak Taco Fest (July 2–5): Located in Downtown Royal Oak. Over 50 taquerias,
live music across five stages, and a massive kids' entertainment zone.
● Farmington Founders Festival (July 16–18): A classic community favorite featuring
the Fido Festival dog agility show, a crafters market, kids' zone, and a local 5K run.
● Festa Italiana (July 17–19): Held at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights. A
massive celebration of Italian heritage with food trucks, wine tastings, and fireworks.
The August Traditions
● Dearborn Homecoming Festival (August 7–9): Celebrating its 45th year at Ford Field
Park. This event offers a giant carnival, local food trucks, live concert stages, and two
